Fire officials say a smoke alarm alerted residents of a house fire in Kelowna Wednesday morning.
At around 8:45 a.m., the dispatch service received 911 calls about a house fire in the 700 block of Dougall Road South.
Crews confirmed a fire on the second floor of a single family house when they arrived, and were able to knock down the flames from the exterior before enterign the structure and extinguishing the blaze.
“Occupants of the house were alerted to the fire by a working smoke alarm and all self evacuated,” Fire Captain Scott Clarke said.
There were no injuries.
“The fire is considered suspicious in nature and is currently being investigated,” Clarke stated.
