Police confirm death of missing woman

RCMP are now confirming that a 44-year-old woman reported missing in Lumby last weekend, was found dead.
Police earlier identified the woman as Tatjana Stefanski, and said she allegedly was abducted by her ex-husband.
Criminality is suspected in her death as the Southeast District’s Major Crimes Unit continues its investigation.
“The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP offer our sincerest and most heartfelt condolences to the woman’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time,” Const. Chris Terleski, media relations officer for Vernon North Okanagan RCMP, said.
Terleski added there is no additional information to release at this time.
