Stolen snake returned to business
An exotic snake stolen from a Kelowna business has been returned.
Kelowna RCMP’s Community Youth Safety Officer, Const. Fed Angulo, was tasked with assisting in an investigation into the theft of an $800 banana python snake from a business in the 300 block of Highway 33 West on April 15.
After reviewing CCTV footage, and consulting with community partners, the officer was able to identify three youths involved in the theft.
Angulo located the suspects and was able to retrieve the stolen snake, which was unharmed, and returned it to the business owner on April 17.
The RCMP said the owner would not be pressing charges in the theft as the snake was still in good health.
“One of the things the owner wanted to ensure is if the youth were remorseful,” Const. Angulo stated.
“In my dealings with the youth, I could confirm they were indeed remorseful for their actions and did regret causing the incident.”
