Environment Canada is warning of a severe thunderstorm moving into Kelowna and the Okanagan.
The weather agency said meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing heavy rain and small hail that, as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, was located just north of Westbank and Highway 97 and moving eastwards.
Environment Canada warns that the storm could bring heavy downpours, causing flash floods and water pooling on the roads.
The weather may reduce visibility, and motorists are advised to slow down, watch for tail lights ahead, and be prepared to stop.
Environment Canada also advises people stay indoors to avoid the risk of being struck by lightning.
