SUV driver under investigation following collision with motorcycle on Highway 97

Kelowna RCMP are investigating a driver involved in a collision that saw Highway 97 close to traffic.

The RCMP said, at approximately 2:15 p.m. Sunday, July 14, a motorcycle and SUV collided at the intersection of Highway 97 and Commonwealth Road south of Lake Country.

The motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The driver of the SUV was under investigation for a criminal offence, though no further details were released.

Mounties closed a section of the highway following the collision to analyse the scene.

Kelowna RCMP asked that any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the collision contact the detachment at 250-762-3300 and reference file #2024-39634.
