Flights resume at Kelowna airport as wildfire impacts continue

Flights are operating in and out of Kelowna International Airport as the region continues to deal with the impacts of wildfires.

The airport says a full schedule of inbound and outbound flights is planned for Monday, after air service resumed Sunday afternoon at about 2 p.m.

Flights have been operating consistently since service resumed, although officials warn the situation remains fluid and flight schedules could change with little notice.

“Flight service is running smoothly,” James Hall, YLW’s senior manager of operations and sustainability, said in a news release Monday.

Hall is urging passengers to check directly with their airline for the latest information and to contact the carrier for any rebooking needs.

The airport and its airline partners continue to monitor updates from the BC Wildfire Service and will provide updates if flight operations are affected.
