Officers seize suspected fentanyl and Tazer from residence
The Kelowna RCMP Community Safety Unit (CSU) seized a quantity of illicit drugs following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the Lower Mission area of Kelowna.
The warrant was served Thursday (Apr. 30) at a property in the 600-block of Cook Road. The warrant was related to an active criminal investigation into suspected drug trafficking in the area.
“In April of this year, Community Safety Unit officers initiated an investigation into drug trafficking involving a residence on Cook Road,” stated Cpl. Stuart Smith. “During the search, police seized a quantity of a substance suspected to be fentanyl, as well as stolen property and a device believed to be a conducted energy weapon, commonly known as a Tazer.”
Four people were taken into custody during the execution of the search warrant at the residence. Three of those individuals were later released, and a fourth was held in custody pending a court appearance on an unrelated charge.
The case details will be submitted to Public Prosecution Service of Canada for consideration of charges.
