New Covid case in Interior Health; 32 new cases in B.C.
British Columbia is reporting 32 new Covid-19 cases since Friday and one new death.
One of the new cases is in the Interior Health region, which now has two active cases according to Ministry of Health information.
Provincially there are 182 active cases with 14 of those people in hospital and 6 in critical or intensive care.
Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, said there were 10 new cases from Friday to Saturday, 6 new cases from Saturday to Sunday and 16 positive tests from Sunday to Monday.
It brings the province’s total case count to 2,822, with 169 deaths.
Of the total cases, 2,471 (87 per cent) have fully recovered.
Dr. Henry said Phase 3 of B.C.’s restart plan will begin “soon,” and added Premier John Horgan will have more information on that this week.
“We must continue, however, to minimize our cases, to manage them quickly and effectively with public health action, and with everybody doing their part, and then modify our approach as needed,” said Henry at Monday’s news update.
Henry said the easing of restrictions will still mean people will have to physical distance and keep groups small.
“The order for no more than 50 people at a gathering or event will stay in place until there is effective means to stop Covid 19 in our province,” stated Henry.
Henry said there are no new health care system or community outbreaks.
