Police seek tips on arson suspect

RCMP are hoping the public can provide information on a suspicious fire.

It broke out in a wooded area of Blue Jay Drive in West Kelowna Monday around 2:40 p.m.

Fire fighters were involved in extinguishing the blaze when police arrived on scene.

A suspect fled the area prior to police getting there.

“RCMP believe that the fire was deliberately set,” said Staff Sergeant Duncan Dixon of the West Kelowna RCMP. “Thankfully no one was injured, but this incident was extremely dangerous.”

Witnesses describe the suspect as a Caucasian male, with short dark hair, a dark jacket and dark shirt.
