A young cyclist spent Sunday riding up and down Knox Mountain in Kelowna, setting a Canadian record in the process.
Jacob Rubuliak
Jacob Rubuliak of Kelowna climbed 8,848 metres in 9 hours and 33 minutes, riding up and down the mountain 38-and-a-half-times.
The extra half was to ensure he broke the record for Everesting in case his Strava app didn’t match the elevation on his GPS.
The 17-year-old beat the previous record by almost 25 minutes.

Everesting is explained this way: on one day, on one hill, you must climb 8,848 metres in elevation, the equivalent of Mount Everest, the Earth’s highest mountain above sea-level.
