B.C. Wildfire crews have made good progress on the Skuhun Creek wildfire between Merritt and Spences Bridge.
Fire Information Officer Madison Smith says the fire has now been switched to ‘being held’ status as of Wednesday morning (July 22).
Smith says the fire has not grown from the 28-hectare size reported Tuesday.
There are 40 personnel on site Wednesday in an effort to douse the flames.
Smith notes investigators have still yet to determine a cause.
Meantime, a second small fire has ignited in the Kamloops Fire Centre, northwest of Princeton.
The Mathew Creek fire is estimated at four hectares and is suspected to be person-caused.
