Changes for annual nut harvest

It’s the time of year when you can go gather nuts at the Gellatly Nut Farm in West Kelowna.
The hazelnuts are ready now, but it’s a bit different this year as it is all self-harvest.
People are asked to bring your own bags and only harvest from the ground because nuts fall to the ground when they are ripe.
It’s cash only: $5 for a small container and $10 for a large, which is like a large coffee can, and you pay at the house near the park entrance.
The proceeds from the annual fall nut harvest and sale is used by the non-profit Gellatly Nut Farm Society to assist with upkeep and improvements in the popular four-hectare waterfront regional park and working nut orchard off Whitworth Road in West Kelowna.
