Break-in suspects caught in the act
Two men are facing charges after RCMP found them allegedly breaking into a Kelowna home under construction.
On Saturday Nov. 21 at 10:30 p.m., a citizen notified RCMP about a suspicious looking truck in front of a residence under construction on Fawn Run Drive.
Officers and a team with the RCMP Police Dog Services attended the scene and located two men exiting the residence.
“The men attempted to flee on foot but were quickly arrested without further incident,” stated Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy, spokesperson for the Kelowna RCMP. “Investigators located and seized tools and numerous other items from the pickup truck, believed to be removed from the residence.”
The men were held in custody and brought before the court. The BC Prosecution Service has approved charges of break and enter, theft under $5,000, and breach of a court order against 49-year-old Kirk Billingsley and 40-year-old Robert Gunter. They have both been released from custody for a future court date.
