Community Light Up becomes self-guided Twinkle Tour

Starting Friday, Dec. 4 and for the duration of the holidays, West Kelowna residents can stay within their bubble and take a self-guided tour to the many light displays throughout the Westside, with each location identified on the City’s interactive online map available at westkelownacity.ca.

“West Kelowna’s Light Up will look different this holiday season,” said Kevin Bourchier, Recreation Supervisor. “Although the annual event on Brown Road is not possible due to Provincial Health Orders, residents can take in the festive experience through a self-guided Twinkle Tour of City properties.”
The City has added lights at its locations on the Twinkle Tour including:

Brown Road
Gellatly Waterfront including CNR Wharf and Powers Creek Bridge
Mt. Boucherie Community Centre
Boucherie Road Wine Trail and Westlake roundabouts
Parks Department Office at Elliott Road
Fire Hall 31 on Old Okanagan Highway

Westside residents and businesses can add to the joyful experience and submit their location for consideration to be included on the tour map.
The city-wide Twinkle Tour includes a contest where a panel of judges will select a winner on Dec. 20 in each of the following categories:

Most festive residential house
Most festive business
Most festive balcony
Most festive miscellaneous

The annual Skate with Santa event will become five Holiday Skate events that will host no more than 40 patrons per session contingent to Provincial Health Order changes. Registration is required at westkelownacity.ca/onlineregistration. Events are planned for Dec. 6, 13, 20, 27 and Jan. 3 at Jim Lind Arena and include holiday themed decorations, lights, and inflatables and goodie bags for the kids.
