Big White COVID-19 update

Another 13 COVID-19 cases have been linked to the cluster at Big White ski resort near Kelowna.

That brings the total to 175, with 32 active cases and 143 people people recovered.

Of the known cases, 110 reside on Big White Mountain

“Everyone in the Big White community is reminded to avoid social gatherings and that socialization must be limited to immediate household bubbles. Please follow public health guidance such as physical distancing, washing your hands regularly and wearing a mask,” a news release from Interior Health (IH) stated.

IH said the risk remains low for families and individuals visiting Big White Mountain who follow public health guidance, such as sticking to your immediate household bubble and avoiding socializing and gathering.

The next update on the outbreak will be Tuesday, Jan. 19.
