A work van went up in flames on Chamberlain Road in Kelowna Sunday around 7:30 p.m..
The first arriving crew reported heavy fire showing from the engine and passenger area.
“Crews used a single hand line to extinguish the fire. Some smoke and heat did reach the equipment area in the back of the vehicle but minimal equipment was damaged,” Tim Light, platoon captain, said.
The fire is not deemed suspicious and is most likely caused by a failed block heater.
