Thankfully, Spielberg Shelved the E.T. 2 Idea

As if E.T. wasn’t traumatizing for enough children, if the sequel that Spielberg pitched ever was created, the legacy would be a whole lot different!
The director actually pitched a follow-up, where a species of aliens that warred with E.T.’s gang come to Earth and torment Eliot and family.
E.T. returns to kick butt.  But the title was pitched E.T. 2: Nocturnal Fears. Are you kidding me!
Thankfully, it didn’t get made. It took me long enough to be get over seeing E.T. nearly dead.
