Distribution for locally-shot ‘Dangerous’ sold to Lionsgate
A star-studded movie that filmed in the Kamloops and Okanagan areas a few months ago has some major distribution weight behind it.
Dangerous, starring Scott Eastwood and Mel Gibson, has had its distribution rights in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom acquired by Lionsgate Entertainment.
The film’s production budget was estimated at $32 million, according to Internet Movie Database, and it was directed by David Hackl. It also stars Famke Janssen, Kevin Durand and Tyrese Gibson.
A news release describes the film as an action-thriller.
“After the death of his brother, a reformed sociopath (Eastwood) heads to a remote island which soon falls under siege from a deadly gang of mercenaries. Forced to fend for himself, he discovers their role in his brother’s demise and sets off on a relentless quest for vengeance.”
In addition to Kamloops, the film shot in Kelowna, Quilchena and Lavington. Shooting has wrapped up and the film is currently in post-production.
