Gospel Mission forges ahead with Easter dinner
Kelowna’s Gospel Mission will serve their annual Easter Dinner on Saturday, April 3rd , 12 PM at 251 Leon Ave. to the residents of the emergency shelter.
“Easter is a time we think about hope and new beginnings. I can’t think of a better reason to share a special meal together here at the Mission! We are grateful to our community whose generous support made this meal possible,” Carmen Rempel, Executive Director of Kelowna’s Gospel Mission, said.
Because of COVID-19 restrictions, the sit-down meal will be served inside to residents of their shelters only.
Meals that would normally be open to the public will be packed up and delivered by Kelowna’s Gospel Mission’s Community Outreach team to people living outside, in Kelowna’s Gospel Mission’s Doyle Ave. shelter and partner supportive living homes.
A meal of ham, turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and dessert will be served. Kelowna’s Gospel Mission have slowly started welcoming back regular volunteers and are happy to have a reduced volunteer team including MLA Norm Letnick, MP Tracy Gray and MP Renee Merrifield who will be safely serving Easter meals to their guests.
