Seven-vehicle crash on Bennett Bridge
A multi-vehicle collision on the William Bennett Bridge caused traffic chaos during the morning commute to Kelowna this morning.
Just after 7:40 a.m., emergency crews were called to the bridge where a commercial garbage truck rear-ended a Jeep Cherokee causing a chain reaction collision involving a total of seven vehicles.
Emergency Health Services treated occupants of all involved vehicles at scene, with one driver requiring extraction with assistance of the Kelowna Fire Department. One driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries for further medical treatment.
Bridge traffic eastbound was temporarily stopped as emergency crews worked to assist those injured in the collision and to remove the vehicles from the roadway. The investigation into the collision remains ongoing at this time.
