Interior Health going all out to get residents vaccinated
Interior Health has announced new extended hours for its COVID-19 vaccination clinics across the health region to get as many people vaccinated as quickly as possible.
Mobile immunization clinics have also been scheduled for 40 communities in the health region.
As of Wednesday June 9, 74.5 per cent of all eligible adult British Columbians had received at least one dose of vaccine.
In total, 3,749,758 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C., 390,264 of which are second doses.
“Canada has some of the highest Dose one immunization levels in the world and British Columbia is equally strong. We ask everyone to join us in continuing to push forward with our vaccine progress,” B.C. Chief Medical Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry stated. “Clinics are operating at high capacity, welcoming thousands of people every day. Health authorities are also taking vaccines out into communities to further accelerate immunizations – whether through mobile clinics or other efforts like the easy, accessible, same-day immunization clinics.”
