RCMP investigate drowning in South Okanagan
RCMP and the B.C. Coroner’s Service are investigating after a man from B.C.’s Fraser Valley drowned in Osoyoos Lake.
On Tuesday June 29, at 4:42 p.m., Osoyoos RCMP were called for assistance after a man was found unresponsive in the lake.
“A 31-year-old man from Chilliwack was in the shallow water at Nk’Mip RV Park playing with his young child when others noticed the child alone and the man missing. Friends and family quickly located the man unresponsive in the lake,” Sgt Jason Bayda, said.
“Life saving measure were initiated by his friends and others in the area and continued by first responders but the man passed away.
The Coroners Service is investigating the circumstances that led to the man’s death.
For privacy reasons, the victim’s name will not be released.
