Free energy saving kits available for low to low moderate households

B.C. Hydro is offering people living in low to moderate income households free energy saving kits.

The kits contain energy saving products that can be installed around the home and help reduce the water, heat and electricity use.

Included in the kits are:

• LED light bulbs
• Weatherstripping to reduce drafts around windows and doors
• High efficiency showerhead
• Water-saving tab aerators
• LED night light
• Refrigerator and freezer thermometer

A step-by-step instruction guide is also included in the kit so that residents can fully install and get the best use out of these items.

People who apply for the kit will also be able to customize their kits to meet the specific needs of their homes.

British Columbians are advised to check B.C. Hydro’s income qualification table to see if they are eligible to receive a free energy saving kit. If they qualify they can proceed to the application process.
