Suspect’s break-in interrupted by police
Police officers were in the right place at the right time to thwart a crime in progress in downtown Kelowna.
Early this morning (Dec. 9), two Mounties say they saw a man using tools to try and break into a condo building in the 500 block of Leon Avenue.
Officers arrested the man for break and enter and he was identified as an individual who was breaching his release order.
A background check showed the suspect has six outstanding warrants, was on a curfew between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., and was prohibited from having break and enter tools in his possession.
“We applaud the officers who were able to make an arrest after their proactive police work,” said Mike Della-Paolera, media relations officer. “Thanks to their hard work, this individual is off the streets and being held for the courts.”
