Police presence in Rutland area

Kelowna RCMP have been in the Rutland area for several hours responding to an undisclosed call.

Mounties responded to the scene in the 100 block of Cactus Road around 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, and closed off the street between Jasmine and Monterey Roads.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., the RCMP stated the road closures were expanded to include Springfield Rd between Neptune Rd. and Hollywood Rd. South, but police reopened that route approximately 20 minutes later.

The undisclosed incident remains ongoing as of time of publication, and people are urged to stay away from the area.
