Suspects in youth assault re-arrested
RCMP are thanking the public for their assistance in the arrest of two men accused of the November 2021 assault of a teenager on the Rail Trail in Kelowna.
After the men attended court this week, Constable Mike Della-Paolera said one was released from custody while the other has been ordered to remain behind bars.
Both Kelowna residents are required to attend court on January 9.
Kyle and Justin Radis initially failed to appear in court on Dec. 15. They are accused of aggravated assault and robbery of a 17-year-old male on the Rail Trail.
The victim suffered a fractured skull, broken ribs, a collapsed lung, a concussion, dental and nasal fractures, and extensive bruising in the attack where his bike was stolen.
“We are grateful for the assistance of both the local media outlets and the community in helping track down these two individuals” Della-Paolera, media relations officer, said.
