The City of Kelowna will honour former city councillor, MLA and MP Al Horning with a future road named for him at Kelowna International Airport.
The road, called Al Horning Way, will connect the south end of the airport to Rutland, the area his family has called home for decades.
“It’s a great honour because I’ve only seen them name roads after hockey players. I’m delighted,” Horning told Kelowna10.
Horning, 83, was also a champion snowmobile racer, a founding member of the Kelowna Snowmobile Association and was inducted into the Central Okanagan Sports Hall of Fame in 2021.
