A near 24-hour closure of the Trans Canada Highway west of Chase was due to debris movement on a slope next to the roadway.
In an email to CFJC Today, B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure says no material from the debris movement landed on the stretch of Highway 1 between Shuswap-Chase Creek Road and Shuswap Avenue, but the province closed the roadway while geotechnical engineers evaluated the scene.
The highway reopened just before 10 a.m. this morning.
