Council approves new dog park
The city of West Kelowna has good news for dog owners.
Council has approved a new dog park at Wildhorse Park, located in the Smith Creek neighbourhood.
The city said its staff are continuing to explore opportunities to increase dog parks throughout the city, particularly in Westbank Centre.
In other West Kelowna news, council approved cash Grants in Aid totaling $113,828 to 17 not-for-profit groups who provide valuable social and community services to West Kelowna.
Council approved in-kind Grants in Aid of $27,674 to five not-for-profit groups to cover facility rentals. Visit westkelownacity.ca/budget for more information.
And council gave first reading to zoning bylaw amendment for 2741 Auburn Road to rezone the property to accommodate construction of a 401-unit apartment development.
Council also directed staff to schedule second reading pending further traffic review and analysis and determine necessary off-site improvements.
