Public hearing set for golf course
Kelowna council has set a public hearing for June 6 to get input on the future use of the Kelowna Springs Golf Course, south of the airport.
Council has given first reading to a changing the land use designation from industrial to private recreational in the official community plan (OCP).
A staff report in 2022 outlined a lack of industrial areas, and as part of the 2040 OCP’s approach to addressing industrial land needs, the golf course was designated as Industrial.
The property is still zoned Parks and Open Space and continues to operate as a golf course.
Vancouver-based Denciti Group announced in February it had purchased the 106-acre golf course on Penno Road, just south of Kelowna airport, with plans to redevelop the site into an industrial complex.
