Rapid growth continues in Central Okanagan

The population of the Kelowna census metropolitan area (CMA) grew by 2.8 per cent, or around 6,400 people over the last year.
The Central Okanagan economic development commission said Lake Country saw the highest growth at 5.9 per cent.
The CMA population at the end of the first quarter was listed as 235,473.
Over that same time period, the average rent for a two bedroom row apartment in the Kelowna CMA was up 13.8 per cent, to $1,665.
Housing starts increased by 217 per cent.
