Just after the Pigeon Creek wildfire near Peachland was classified as under control, another one in the Central Okanagan sparked next to a road near Bear Creek Park Sunday, June 11.
However quick action by firefighters and a helicopter had it held in a couple of hours at less than 1 hectare.
It’s a reminder that despite the weekend showers, the wildlands are tinder dry.
