Kelowna townhouse damaged in afternoon fire

A townhouse in the Landmark neighbourhood was damaged by a fire Friday, June 30.
Kelowna Fire Department responded to a report of heavy smoke from a townhouse unit at 12:48 p.m. Friday.
Firefighters arrived on the scene in the 2100 block of Burtch Road and observed flames coming out of the second story window.
Crews executed an initial exterior attack to knock back the fire and keep it contained to the second floor.
The fire did not spread to the adjacent units.
No one was home at the time of the fire.
The fire department said an investigation into the cause was ongoing.
