People at nearby businesses, homes and a high school were put under a “hold a secure” order on Wednesday as RCMP dealt with an unfolding event in Kelowna.
Officers say it’s part of an investigation into an incident that took place at a residence in the 700 block of Harvey Avenue.
“We are asking the public to avoid the area and anticipate traffic delays while this investigation continues,” media relations officer, Const. Mike Della-Paolera, said.
The students, and other nearby residents and workers were asked to remain in place until the all-clear signal was given, which has since happened.
“A related investigation is currently underway in West Kelowna. This investigation is also active and may result in traffic disruptions in the respective neighbourhood. Police are again reminding the public to remain out of the area,”Della-Paolera stated.
