Thinking about a trip? Check out the Travel Show
People looking to plan a fall or winter getaway may want to check out an event this weekend at the Kelowna Airport site.
The Fall Travel Show will take place at the KF Centre for Excellence on LaPointe Drive Saturday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free event provides an opportunity to explore, plan, and win travel-themed prizes while supporting the YLW Scholarship Fund.
“Whether you’re looking for a relaxing vacation or travelling to see long-distance friends and family for the holidays, the Fall Travel Show is a great event to help Okanagan residents plan their time away from home,” Sam Samaddar, YLW chief executive officer, said. “With a variety of travel vendors under one roof, there are plenty of options to help plan your next trip.”
People can talk with travel experts, air carriers, YLW staff and other travel-related vendors to gain valuable insights and tips for planning a vacation.
There will also be chances to win prizes, including airfare, and hotel stays.
Ballots for the prize draws are $5 each or $20 for five tickets and will only be available at the event. All proceeds will benefit the YLW scholarship fund, supporting aviation and aerospace students conducting their studies in the Okanagan region.
Attendees are encouraged to take alternate forms of transportation to the event. Anyone who bikes to the Fall Travel Show can enter to win a free bike tune up (valued at $100) from Cyclepath. Those who bike can enter their name to win at the YLW booth.
Free parking will be available at YLW, with shuttles provided to transport attendees to the KF Centre for Excellence. People are asked to follow signage and staff direction.
