Fire department looking for new members
A Central Okanagan fire hall is looking for more members to join their ranks.
The Wilson’s Landing Fire Department has launched a recruitment campaign as it is in need of new members to join the team as paid, on-call firefighters.
“We are searching for individuals who want to represent their community and make a positive difference in the lives of others,” Paul Zydowicz, Wilson’s Landing Fire Chief, said.
“Our team values continuous learning and practice, and will provide opportunities for recruits to learn and grow while forming lifelong relationships that extend beyond the call of duty.”
Recruits must live within an eight-kilometre radius of Station 42 at 2396 Westside Road, be between 19 and 65 years old, and be in good physical condition.
The fire department will hold recruitment information sessions at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the fire hall on Westside Rd.
Anyone interested in joining the ranks can fill out an application form then bring it to the information session in person.
Prospective recruits will be contacted regarding next steps in joining the department, such as interviews and physical tests.
