There was a heavy police presence at the Orchard Park Mall in Kelowna Tuesday afternoon.
The response was a result of RCMP being advised that an individual was in possession of a firearm and threatening others just before 1 p.m.
“Numerous officers, including members of the Southeast District Emergency Response Team, arrived at the mall almost immediately when it was determined there was no incident including the use of a firearm,” Cpl. Michael Gauthier said.
RCMP are took one person into custody for questioning as the investigation continues.
