Kelowna drivers are being advised of upcoming traffic changes on Spiers Road as construction begins on the K.L.O. Road Bridge Replacement project.
Starting Wednesday, May 20, the northbound lane on Spiers Road between K.L.O. Road and Parsons Road will be closed for approximately two months. Northbound commuters will be detoured via Hart Road, while southbound traffic will continue as one-way travel through the construction zone.
The city originally said the work would begin Monday,. May 11, but later corrected the project’s starting date.
The work is part of a broader project that will replace the K.L.O. Road bridge and deliver improvements to the surrounding area. Plans also include the installation of a roundabout designed to improve traffic flow, enhance intersection safety and support active transportation options connecting to Southeast Kelowna.
City officials are asking drivers to follow all posted signage, construction fencing and instructions from traffic control personnel while travelling through the area.
