Corey’s “Free Ride” Blog: All Aboard the Metro

This Metro has 2 stops, and you want to disembark immediately!

11am – 12:43pm: Metro Liquor (1175 Ellis St., Kelowna)
When I saw Metro Liquor scheduled twice for Thursday, June 27, I thought, “uh-oh, I hope a friendly beer-rep doesn’t keep giving me open samples!”  I’d have to call one of those designated driver services to return the Jeep home, and can’t have that! Only I may drive the Jeep (until someone wins it at Rock the Lake on August 11, then I will happily hand over the key).
Fortunately, for all of us, Metro Liquor has 2 locations! One downtown at Ellis and Clement, and one in West Kelowna at Ross and Hwy 97.  What better way to get prepped for Canada Day long weekend then to have the Jeep and I at a spot you were going anyways?  And you’ll be hardpressed to find a deal for 24 beer for less than $30, with a Canada shirt!
A couple days ago, I wrote about Kevin and his little dog Turbo.  Today, Kevin’s mom Bev showed up with print out of the blog page I created with Turbo’s photo! It was extremely adorable!

3 – 4:43pm: Metro Liquor (1747 Ross Road, West Kelowna)
Next stop: Metro Liquor!  Whenever there is a west side Free Ride remote, I know I am going to see my westsiders, and today was no exception! But it was also nice to see some new regulars!  Trying to win a Jeep is kind of like being addicted to sugar; you’re craving it, and you jump in your car and suddenly you’re in the bulk section elbow deep in wine gums! Except instead of the bulk section, you’re standing at my table. (it’s a good analogy)
It was great to see my little buddy Daniel!  A few months ago, he and his Dad Colin came by the station and I gave him a tour. Beach Radio is his favourite station, and he is my biggest fan!  I am so happy his Mom Tracy was able to stop by and say hello (and enter to win the Jeep of course), but what a nice surprise!

Tomorrow is Friday, so there are no Free Ride remotes. And since Monday is Canada Day, I’ll be back with your next 103 minutes on Tuesday morning at 11am!  Happy Canada Day!
