Well, it’s not the Free Ride contest without being tempted with free food. It happens. A lot.
11am – 12:43pm: Milestones (2121 Harvey Ave.)
The last time we were at Milestones, the skies opened up. I was still hanging on the (newly renovated) covered patio, but I’ve been to Milestones when it is sunny and hot; I wanted the mist. Today, dreams came true.
27º at 11 am, and I’m feeling a light breeze and warm sun on my skin. The team at Milestones really twist my arm to taste their delicious food and refreshing drinks, so I relented. I figured I would take one for the team; Team Awesome.
Out comes McKenzie with a Limoncello Lemonade, Wham-Bam Shrimp, and Cantina Fish Taco! The taco was outstanding, the lemonade was so thirst-quenching (especially in the sun), but for my money (which is zero, because it was complimentary food), the show stopper was the Wham-Bam! Crispy shrimp tossed in the secret Wham-Bam sauce, finished with sesame seeds. I asked what was in the Wham-Bam sauce because it packed a nice kick, but McKenzie just tapped her nose, like so. (that means it’s a secret, so she would not tell me). Go to Milestones.
