Corey’s “Free Ride” Blog: Wine Not

I heard one phrase more today than I have ever during this contest: Why Not?

11am – 12:43pm: Freshii on Pandosy (3030 Pandosy Street)
It’s always great to park the Jeep in a highly visible but unusual location, like when I am inside Orchard Park mall, or parked on the hillside at Reid’s Corner.  So when I see wide lanes of concrete in front of the businesses of SoPa Square, I think, “Jackpot!”
Up the curb I go and nestle myself in front of Freshii, the healthy customizable menu restaurant.  What a spot!  And a high foot traffic area to boot.
Surprisingly, not everyone wants to win a free Jeep.  Some will politely say “No Thanks,” some will smile and shake their head “no,” and some just ignore me.  That hurts.  I’m trying to help you, and you just ignore me?  Me?  The friendliest guy in Kelowna?!

My point is; today, I was delightfully surprised by the amount of “Why Not” I heard!  That’s what I’m talking about!  Free tickets for Rock the Lake and a chance at a Free Jeep!  Why Not!  Maybe it’s the neighbourhood?  This was my third Mission remote in a row!

3 – 4:43pm: Wine Kitz Orchard Plaza (1980 Cooper Road)
Back to Wine Kitz for the third and final time.  As I tell everybody, Patrick, Rita and Justin always put out an amazing spread of refreshments for our contest-goers.  My dad is a homebrewer of wine, and after being to Wine Kitz a few times, I see the draw.  You get to craft a wine that suits your tastes, so you’re not stuck with some ghost swill you grew in your basement that you bring out when the “good” wine bottle is empty.  Plus, you get to make your own labels!  I’m a label geek, so that excites me.
Wine Kitz also draws a free wine kit whenever I’m there, so hopefully I’ll find out who won that (and maybe I’ll get a free bottle for being the friendliest guy in Kelowna…)
Actually, the good folks at Wine Kitz gave me a nice bottle of wine for introducing all these contest goers to their shop. What a nice gesture. Go to Wine Kitz Orchard Plaza if you’re thinking of bottling, and tell them Corey sent ya!
