Corey’s “Free Ride” Blog: (West) Bank Holiday

It’s a double Westbank Monday, and it’s time to celebrate!

11am – 12:43pm: City Furniture (2341 Bering Rd., West Kelowna)
We start off the SECOND LAST WEEK of the Free Ride contest with our last stop at City Furniture.  Back in week 1 of the contest (gosh, were we ever so young?) City Furniture had just completed a big renovation.  It feels like ages ago!  A lot of the west side regulars will tell me that they’ve been waiting for me to come back, except I’ve been in West Kelowna numerous times this contest! (Fountain Tire, ReStore by Habitat for Humanity, Metro Liquor, to name a few)
As I stood outside of City Furniture beneath my tent to keep me from getting sunburnt, Vicki drove up wanting to enter.  But it seemed like she was just going to stay in her car!  After filling out your entry form, the contestant has to take it inside City Furniture and drop it into the box; so I made Vicki park her car.  And it was a good thing, because she raved about her hybrid car to myself and our sales representative for City Furniture.  I’m sure one day Jeep will make a hybrid!

3 – 4:43pm: Save-on-Foods (2475 Dobbin Road, West Kelowna)
A couple minutes away from City Furniture is Save-on-Foods! Around the Okanagan, you can visit any Save-on from Tuesday-Friday for a Happy Hour special, but because it’s Monday, this location had baby back pork ribs on for ten bucks for a full rack!  Nice way to start off a week!
An amazing thing happened today: at one point, there were a couple of contest-goers filling out their entry forms. I peeked at the names being written; one person’s first name is ‘Corey,’ and the other’s last name is ‘Fischer!’  MY name is Corey Fischer!  How incredibly coincidental is that?!  I mean it, what are the odds of that happening?  I took a photo with them.
It’s another Westbank miracle!
