The West Kelowna RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing woman who may have been hiking in Glen Canyon before she went missing.
Marcia Harris was last seen on Friday August 23, 2019 at approximately 10 a.m. after leaving a home on Wetton Road.
Police and Okanagan Search and Rescue have been deployed to the Glen Canyon area to search for Harris.
“Frontline members are now working with the Okanagan Search and Rescue team in order to conduct a search of Glen Canyon as Harris had mentioned she wanted to explore the waterfalls in that area,” Const. Lesley Smith of the Kelowna detachment said.
“Police are making every effort in trying to locate her,” she added.
Harris is described as a 38-year-old Indigenous woman, approximately 5-6 and 160 pounds, with long black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information as to her whereabouts is asked to contact the West Kelowna RCMP at 250-768-2880.
