Elections B.C. has completed a review into Kelowna West MLA Ben Stewart and found that no provisions of the Election Act were violated.
Stewart advised the Chief Electoral Officer back on August 1, 2019 of a political contribution to the B.C. Liberal Party that was reimbursed to the contributor by the party.
“The review found no evidence that the political contribution and reimbursement were made in contravention of the Election Act,” said a news release from Andrew Watson, Director of Communications with Elections B.C.
Elections B.C. says it now considers this matter closed.
“To protect the privacy of the individuals involved, Elections BC will not be making further comment on this issue.”
