Police seek tips on injury-causing hit and run
Police are hoping someone saw something that might lead to a break in a Kelowna hit and run case from almost two months ago
On the evening of Aug. 17th, around 6:40 p.m., a pedestrian was injured after being hit by a vehicle on Bernard Avenue near Lakeview Street
“When police arrived, they located an injured pedestrian who had sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital. The vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene prior to police arrival,” said Cpl. Meghan Foster.
Foster says the injured person has since been released from hospital.
The Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Services Section has taken control of the investigation and continues to gather evidence.
“The vehicle involved was described to be an older model grey Ford Focus sedan and was last scene driving east bound up Bernard Avenue,” said Foster. “The front bumper, hood and windshield were noticeably damaged as a result of the collision. Anyone that may have seen this vehicle in the following hours is asked to contact police.”
