Precautionary boil water notice issued
A water main break has resulted in a precautionary Boil Water Notice for residents served by the Westshore Estates water system.
About 270 properties in the Westshore Estates subdivision, located off Westside Road are affected.
RDCO Engineering Services crews responded to the reported break Wednesday evening, made the necessary repairs and will be flushing the complete system today.
“Until further notice the Regional District and Interior Health recommend as a precaution, that all Westshore water customers drink boiled water or a safe alternative. All water intended for drinking, preparing food and washing fruits and vegetables to be eaten raw, making beverages, ice or mixing baby formula, or brushing teeth should be boiled for at least one minute,” said a news release from the Central Okanagan Regional District.
The notice will be amended once tests confirm water is within acceptable guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water quality.
