RCMP target problem residence
RCMP seized drugs and suspected stolen property after searching a residence in downtown Kelowna.
“Officers from the Kelowna RCMP Community Safety Unit executed a search warrant at a property located in the 400-block of Francis Ave in Kelowna Jan. 10. The warrant was related to an active criminal investigation into suspected drug trafficking in the city’s downtown core,” said Const. Solana Par.
The search turned up various types of drugs and suspected stolen items.
“As a result of information gathered from concerned citizens in the neighbourhood, our officers were able to take action quickly,” said Par. “During their search of the home, police seized quantities of suspected ketamine, cocaine, fentanyl, MDMA and various forms of illegal cannabis, as well as suspected stolen identity documents, numerous boxes of suspected stolen property and various drug paraphernalia items commonly used in the trafficking of controlled substances from inside the residence,” Par added.
Four people arrested at the residence were later released without charges pending further investigation.
