RCMP investigating alleged threat at Kelowna Christian School
Kelowna Christian School was placed under lockdown this morning following an alleged threat by a male suspect toward students and staff.
The Kelowna RCMP said school officials contacted them about the alleged threat just before 9 a.m this morning (Feb. 5).
Both the highschool and middle school campus on Benvoulin Road and the elementary school campus on Gordon Drive are under a hold and secure, according to Global News.
The RCMP said in a media release they are working alongside school officials to ensure the safety of the school under the threat.
“RCMP continue to conduct an ongoing risk assessment based on the best information available to us, and have taken the appropriate steps to reduce any potential risk,” Const. Solana Pare said.
Representatives from the RCMP and Kelowna Christian School have not publicly disclosed any further details about the nature of the threat.
