A Kelowna man is facing potential charges after allegedly stealing from a store and threatening a loss prevention officer.
Police say a man stole merchandise from a business in the 1400 block of Harvey Avenue around 4 p.m. Tuesday, and attempted to flee.
“When the loss prevention officer attempted to recover the stolen item, the suspect allegedly produced what appeared to be mace and threatened him,” said Cpl. Jocelyn Noseworthy of Kelowna RCMP.
A 20-year-old man was arrested a few hours later.
“As a result of the investigative work of front line officers, and RCMP Police Dog Services, a local male suspect was identified, and taken into custody less than five hours after the incident,” Noseworthy added.
