Matt in Calgary is selling two Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles. It makes me wonder if it’s a joke; on the Kijiji listing, he states, “No emails please call Matt ANYTIME and ask about the big wiener for sale.”
Doesn’t it have the hallmark of a prank? But the post does look legit, as it’s sold through a collections agency.
“The company in charge of operating these vehicles has gone bankrupt. Parent company of Oscar Mayer Canada has commissioned us to sell these Wienermobiles. Any logos will be removed before vehicle is picked up. Local Calgary pick up only. NO THE PEANUT IS NOT FOR SALE! STOP ASKING.”
UPDATE (5:36am Feb 28): We received this text from Ashley;
“The Wienermobile ad is fake. Some guy put it on Kijiji as a prank after a Facebook argument with my husband (former Kelowna guy) He put my husband’s phone number, he has now received probably 2,000 phone calls”
